Yam Fries

Janelle, Naomi and I went out for lunch today, and Naomi's Jewish, sooo we went to a falafel place. It was interesting. We walk in and it's super crowded and noisy. The kitchen is completely open, there's a little bar divider between the tables and the kitchen. Naomi says hi to the cook guy and he talks to her as he's cooking up some falafels, with his crazy accent and lisp. Then he asks her a question, she responds in Yiddish or Hebrew, don't really know. There are no tables so he yells to all the people sitting down at their tables: "WHO'S LEAVING!" Then he yells some more to the waiters "Someone tell table 1 to leave!" Table 1 can definitely hear him yelling. The restaurant is about the size of our living room. About five minutes pass and no one's left and so he turns around from his cooking and yells "TABLE 1 IT'S TIME FOR YOU TO LEAVE.. SOMEONE TELL TABLE ONE TO GO HOME!!"

Naomi says this is what it is like in Israel and at home with her father. Anyways, the food was amazing, good price too. I'll be going back.

I'm pretty sure it's Corydon, towards Kenaston. People refer to that guy as the Falafel Nazi... though, seeing as he's Jewish, I'm not sure that's an appropiate thing to do.

One time Rachel and I took her parents there. It was packed so we decided to leave and try some place else. That guy chased us outside, insisting that we come back and that he could get us a table.

hehe, that's the one, yeah, I'm thinking saying Nazi with anything Jewish related is kinda wrong.

In fact, probably using the word Nazi lightly isn't a very good idea, now that I think about, which is really too bad cuz I do enjoy calling people nazis

Wikipedia to the rescue:

Falafel (Arabic: فلافل‎ falaafil, Hebrew: פלאפל falafel, also known in Egypt and Sudan as طعمية ta`amiyya), is a fried ball or patty made from spiced fava beans and/or chickpeas. It is a highly popular form of fast food in the Arab East and Israel, and is also served as a mezze or snack. Falafel is very common in Greater Syria and it is the most popular daily food in Syria. The word "falafel" is the plural of the Arabic word فلفل (filfil), meaning pepper.[1]

Falafel is usually served in a pita bread wrap (i.e. sandwich), and the term "falafel" commonly refers to this sandwich by synecdoche; falafel in a pita is typical street food or fast food.

Yam fries... well, those are just fries made out of yams instead of potatoes.

We have the bands A Place Tomorrow, Elyon and (were working on) WHY. It promises to be an evening of great tunes!
